LOCAL PROGRAM SIX – [October 2007] Vocal Chamber Music [La Paz & El Alto BOLIVIA]

With major assistance from the U. S. Embassy in Bolivia, and taking advantage of its growing network of emerging musical artists from Bolivian and the United States, Songs Unlimited welcomed the opportunity to honor the Centennial Celebration of the founding of the Bolivian National Conservatory in La Paz, by presenting a week of activities devoted to classical Vocal Chamber Music.  During the second week of October 2007, the week included 2 presentations of the major concert as well as Master Classes presented at the Conservatory through the residency of pianist from Stetson University Michael Rickman and that of soprano Allison Stanford from Arizona State University music program.  Also brought to Bolivia were two Bolivians living in the U.S. – tenor Pablo Henrich of Virginia and soprano Andrea Ramos of the University of Central Arkansas.  The elegant historical Baroque performance hall on the most central plaza of La Paz was packed with standing room only.
